Women Peacebuilders Network was created in the framework of the project: “An Integrated Approach to Promote Women and Youth as Peacebuilders in Albania“ implemented in 11 Municipalities of Albania (Elbasan, Peqin, Librazhd, Cërrik, Belsh, Prrenjas, Gramsh, Rrogozhinë, Kavajë, Pogradec, Lushnje) supported by ICAN (International Civil Society Action Network) and founded by IPF.
The network of 33 members was created to promote the general interest in the implementation of Resolutions 1325 and 2250 in line with one of the measures of the National Inter Institutional Action Plan approved in 2018 as part of quality projects within the best policies for the integration of women and youth for peace and security.
CVE Center collaboration was an added value of this project and has played a crucial role in implementing qualitative action by providing expertise and resources to community resilience against extremism by integrating the approach with peacebuilding.
Activities extended in 11 targeted municipalities with focus groups women representatives of municipal councils and municipal staff, women members of Local Security Councils, domestic violence coordinators and representatives of local NGO-s will be trained on gender, human rights and peace and security.
Women Peacebuilders Network at Local Level is expected to have impact in global context. The multiple collaborative efforts are the most comprehensive way of addressing challenges and envisioning a collective future.
